I’ve been on a month-long hiatus that pummelled me with a storm of distractions: new opportunities, Sydney summer revelry and my best friends coming for a visit.
That’s right – Sydney’s gotten its fair share of Brooklyn lovin’ lately as I’ve been spoiled beyond belief with visitors the past couple of months, from Jamie to my little next door neighbour, Alexandra (We know), to Connie and Laura making their mark down under.
The last time I saw Connie and Laura was when I made a quick visit home for a week when my brother got married in June 2011. I flew home a few days early to surprise Connie and the rest of my best friends for Connie’s birthday.

Sydney’s sights for tourists

I’ve lived in four countries, but it wasn’t until I moved to Sydney that people back home started getting serious with their “I’m coming to visit” you comments that make my stomach flip-flop with emotions. And when living in Australia, you know the essentials visitors must do and see: They must see a kangaroo, and they must partake in having shrimp on the barbie.
