Waking up with Cape Tourville

Sometimes as travelers, you can tend to think that once you’ve seen one sunrise or sunset, you’ve seen them all. The will to wake up at 5 a.m. for a sunrise might diminish after seeing some of the most renowned sunrises around the world, but for me that is always that pang of guilt (re: Catholic school) of not doing something you feel like you should.

Clear Skies and Surfers Paradise Ferris Wheel

I don’t really know why, but I absolutely love this photo I took on the drive into Surfer’s Paradise on Australia’s Gold Coast. It had been a long day of driving (well, a long day as a passenger) through endless back country roads, but the excitement of knowing that we had an apartment waiting for us in Surfer’s Paradise got my blood pumping again. I happened to sort of just pull out my camera and snap this photo quickly and without thinking too much.
I’ve taken loads of photos throughout the past two years, but something about this tilted angle makes and the cloudless sky just gives me this wave of energy to get up, go somewhere, do something and find myself on yet another crazy adventure.
